Piper Companies is hiring a Tech Management Lead for a global financial institution located in New York City. The Tech Management Lead will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of real-time trading and risk applications supporting the Rates desk. This is a full-time opportunity and requires the candidate to sit on site multiple days per week in New York City.
Responsibilities of the Tech Management Lead:
- Act as the first line of defense for trading systems, resolving production incidents swiftly to minimize downtime and financial impact.
- Collaborate directly with Traders, Strats, and Development teams to optimize workflows and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Drive improvements in application health monitoring and automation to reduce manual effort and operational risk.
- Conduct root cause analyses and blameless post-mortems, implementing preventative measures for recurring issues.
- Lead cost optimization and capacity management initiatives to ensure efficient resource utilization.
Requirements of the Tech Management Lead:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
- 7+ years of experience in reliability engineering or technical support within financial services.
- Experience with observability tools such as Geneos, Grafana, Splunk, or Prometheus.
- Strong technical proficiency in Linux/Unix systems, SQL, and scripting.
- Programming experience with Python or Java.
- Proven experience supporting front office trading environments and business-critical applications.
Benefits of the Tech Management Lead:
Compensation: $185,000–$203,000
