Data Developer

Piper Companies is seeking a Data Developer to join a well-established financial services company. This is a hybrid role located in Wayne, PA and focuses on supporting and enhancing their enterprise data warehouse environment. This role combines hands-on development with data management.

Responsibilities of the Data Developer role include:

• Perform data profiling, create source-to-target mappings, and develop ETL workflows using low-code tools and/or Python
• Optimize SQL queries for performance and reliability
• Participate in testing, deployment, and troubleshooting of data integration processes
• Provide technical and business analysis for projects centered on data warehousing and BI solutions
• Contribute to data warehouse design decisions, ensuring optimal structures for processing and reporting
• Produce detailed technical specifications and maintain ETL documentation in partnership with architects and BI developers

Qualifications for the Data Developer role include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in data-centric development roles
• Strong knowledge in Python
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (Snowflake experience is a plus)
• Familiarity with Microsoft and Linux environments
• Hands-on experience with integration patterns (e.g., flat files, APIs, web services)
• Solid understanding of data modeling principles (ER diagrams, normalization)
• Exposure to low-code ETL tools
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts (dimensional modeling, star schema)
• Ability to write clear technical documentation

Compensation for the Data Developer role include:

• $85,000-$110,000
