Piper Companies is hiring a Therapeutic Strategy Lead for a mid-size CRO headquartered in Australia. The Therapeutic Strategy Lead will be the senior subject matter expert responsible for shaping clinical development strategies with one or more therapeutic areas in the CRO. The Therapeutic Strategy Lead is a remote opportunity and will need to work US Based hours.


Responsibilities for the Therapeutic Strategy Lead:

  • Guide protocol design, feasibility, and scientific input.
  • Serve as clinical expert for proposals and bid defenses.
  • Build KOL and site relationships to improve enrollment and data quality.
  • Convert science into operational plans, budgets, and timelines.
  • Advise on regulatory strategy, endpoints, and safety standards.
  • Mentor teams and contribute to thought leadership.

Requirements for the Therapeutic Strategy Lead:

  • Advanced clinical or scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD or equivalent); board certification or clinical practice experience preferred.
  • Significant industry experience in drug development, ideally including late-phase clinical program leadership or advanced therapeutic strategy roles within a sponsor, academic center, or CRO.
  • Proven track record of scientific credibility with KOLs, investigators, and clinical sites in the specified therapy area.
  • Experience contributing to commercial-facing bids and study design, balancing scientific rigor with operational and commercial constraints.

Compensation for the Therapeutic Strategy Lead:

  • $135,000 - $175,000 base salary
  • Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law
