Piper Companies is hiring a DevOps Engineer for a worldwide technology company located in Morrisville, NC. The DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and optimize automation solutions for application deployment, infrastructure management, and operational workflows in a hybrid environment (on-prem and cloud). The DevOps Engineer is a long term open ended contract opportunity with potential to convert permanent and requires you to sit on site several days per week in Morrisville, NC.


Responsibilities for the DevOps Engineer:

  • Design, build, and maintain automated deployment and infrastructure solutions for on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline software delivery and improve system reliability.
  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and manage configuration with Ansible.
  • Develop automation scripts and tooling using Python for operational efficiency.
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines and integrate DevOps practices using Jenkins or similar tools.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and scalability.
  • Drive adoption of DevOps best practices, including continuous monitoring, logging, and security compliance.

Requirements for the DevOps Engineer:

  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles, automation, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience with hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud), preferably AWS.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Python (scripting and automation)
    • Ansible (configuration management)
    • Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools
    • AWS (cloud services)
    • Terraform & Terragrunt (Infrastructure-as-Code)
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Solid grasp of monitoring tools, logging frameworks, and security best practices.
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies and collaborative workflows.


Compensation for the DevOps Engineer:

  • $110,000 - $130,000
  • Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law
