Piper Companies is hiring a DevOps Engineer for a worldwide technology company located in Morrisville, NC. The DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and optimize automation solutions for application deployment, infrastructure management, and operational workflows in a hybrid environment (on-prem and cloud). The DevOps Engineer is a long term open ended contract opportunity with potential to convert permanent and requires you to sit on site several days per week in Morrisville, NC.
Responsibilities for the DevOps Engineer:
- Design, build, and maintain automated deployment and infrastructure solutions for on-premises and cloud environments.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline software delivery and improve system reliability.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and manage configuration with Ansible.
- Develop automation scripts and tooling using Python for operational efficiency.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines and integrate DevOps practices using Jenkins or similar tools.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and scalability.
- Drive adoption of DevOps best practices, including continuous monitoring, logging, and security compliance.
Requirements for the DevOps Engineer:
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles, automation, and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud), preferably AWS.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Python (scripting and automation)
- Ansible (configuration management)
- Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools
- AWS (cloud services)
- Terraform & Terragrunt (Infrastructure-as-Code)
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Solid grasp of monitoring tools, logging frameworks, and security best practices.
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies and collaborative workflows.
Compensation for the DevOps Engineer:
- $110,000 - $130,000
- Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law
