AI Engineer

Piper Companies is currently hiring an AI Engineer to support the development and deployment of agentic AI systems within a Digital Health Platform. This is a full-time role focused on building scalable, production-ready AI infrastructure and multi-agent workflows that enhance medical device software development while ensuring compliance and patient safety.

Responsibilities of the AI Engineer:

• Build and deploy agentic AI systems using frameworks like LangChain, CrewAI, and AutoGen
• Design and implement multi-agent orchestration workflows and RAG pipelines using vector databases and semantic search
• Develop prompt engineering strategies and fine-tuning workflows for domain-specific tasks
• Create CI/CD pipelines for AI model deployment and monitoring systems for performance and drift detection
• Deploy AI workloads on Azure (AKS, Azure ML, Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services) and manage infrastructure using Terraform/ARM templates
• Integrate AI agents with development tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub, JIRA, Polarion) and ensure HIPAA-compliant data handling

Qualifications of the AI Engineer:

• 5+ years of AI/ML engineering experience with production LLM deployment
• Hands-on experience with agentic frameworks and multi-agent systems
• Strong experience with RAG implementations and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma)
• Proficient in Python and AI/ML libraries (transformers, langchain, llamaindex)
• DevOps/MLOps expertise including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation
• Azure cloud experience (AI Foundry, Azure ML, AKS, OpenAI, Cognitive Services); AWS/GCP experience also considered
• Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, etc.) with strong understanding of compliance requirements
• Strong software engineering practices including version control, testing, documentation, and code review
• API development experience with REST/GraphQL and webhook integrations
• Database experience with SQL, NoSQL, and vector database

Compensation & Benefits of the AI Engineer:

• Salary Range: $150,000-$180,000
