Piper Companies is looking for a Telecommunications Engineer - Secret Clearance to join a leading telecommunications company to support telephony infrastructure and assist with the migration from legacy TDM systems to modern VoIP/SIP technologies. The ideal Telecommunications Engineer - Secret Clearance will need to work on site in Norfolk, VA 5 days per week.
Responsibilities for the Telecommunications Engineer - Secret Clearance:
- Support and maintain telephony infrastructure, including both legacy TDM and IP based VoIP/SIP systems.
- Assist in the migration of TDM equipment to modern VoIP/SIP platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills at the SIP protocol level and interpret SIP messaging.
- Ensure PBX features are correctly implemented and functioning as intended
- Participate in lab-based training and deployment activities to ensure readiness for customer-facing work.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure smooth transitions and system integrations.
Qualifications for the Telecommunications Engineer - Secret Clearance:
- 5+ years of experience working as a Network or Telephony Engineer supporting enterprise-level telephony systems.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and have an active Secret Clearance
- Familiarity with PBX environments, including provisioning and debugging features such as call waiting, call transfer, and IP feature configuration.
- DoD 8140 compliant certification and CompTIA Security+ required.
Compensation/Benefits for the Telecommunications Engineer - Secret Clearance:
- Salary Range: $95,000 – $115,000 annually
- Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave (if required by law), and Holidays.
