Therapeutic Strategy Lead

Piper Companies is seeking a Therapeutic Strategy Lead to join a growing leader in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology space for a remote permanent position. The Therapeutic Strategy Lead will lead the development of therapeutic-area strategies and provide scientific expertise to design and optimize clinical programs, ensuring they are scientifically sound, operationally feasible, and commercially aligned.

Responsibilities of the Therapeutic Strategy Lead include:

• Lead the development of therapeutic-area strategies that inform clinical program design and ensure scientific, operational, and commercial alignment.
• Serve as the primary subject-matter expert for client proposals, bid defenses, and early-stage study concepts, providing therapeutic rationale and risk mitigation strategies.
• Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), investigators, and high-performing clinical sites to optimize enrollment and data quality.
• Translate therapeutic science into actionable operational plans, including input on budgets, timelines, monitoring strategies, and vendor selection.
• Advise cross-functional teams on regulatory considerations, endpoint selection, safety monitoring, and comparator standards to meet payer and labeling requirements.

Qualifications for the Therapeutic Strategy Lead include:

• Advanced clinical or scientific degree (MD required); board certification or clinical practice experience preferred.
• Extensive experience in drug development, with a strong background in late-phase clinical programs or therapeutic strategy leadership.
• Proven ability to establish scientific credibility with KOLs, investigators, and clinical sites within the relevant therapeutic area.
• Demonstrated experience contributing to commercial-facing proposals and study designs, balancing scientific rigor with operational feasibility.
• Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders.

 Compensation for the Therapeutic Strategy Lead:

• Salary Range: $350,000-$400,000/year (USD)
• Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, sick leave if required by law, and 401K
