Piper Companies is seeking a Business Development Director (CRO) for a full-time remote role to support our U.S. expansion within a global clinical research organization. This position will drive strategic growth by securing large-scale clinical trial programs, building strong relationships with biotech and pharmaceutical clients, and contributing to ambitious market penetration goals.
Responsibilities for the Business Development Director (CRO) include:
· Develop and execute strategies to expand the CROs footprint in the U.S. market, focusing on biotech and pharma clients.
· Manage the full sales cycle for high-value accounts, with typical deal sizes ranging from $2M–$10M and aspirations for $30M–$40M global programs.
· Build and maintain strong client relationships to drive repeat business and long-term partnerships.
· Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery and client satisfaction.
· Represent the CRO during proposals, bid defenses, and strategic discussions with prospective clients.
Qualifications for the Business Development Director (CRO) include:
· 5–10 years of proven success in CRO sales.
· Strong understanding of clinical trial processes and biotech/pharma industry dynamics.
· Ability to manage complex, high-value deals and negotiate effectively.
· Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills.
· Therapeutic Areas of focus include Oncology, Immunology, and Neurology
Compensation for the Business Development Director (CRO) includes:
· Salary range: $180,000–$200,000
