Software Engineer - Migration

Piper Companies is seeking a Software Engineer to lead the migration of a custom Groovy-based application from an on-premises environment to a modern cloud platform for a leader in the tech industry. The Software Engineer role is ideal for an experienced engineer with strong expertise in Groovy, cloud architecture, and application modernization strategies.

Responsibilities of the Software Engineer:

• Lead the migration of a Groovy-based application from on-premises infrastructure to a cloud environment.
• Design and implement cloud architecture solutions that align with modernization best practices.
• Refactor and optimize existing Groovy code for cloud compatibility and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
• Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning throughout the migration process.

Qualifications of the Software Engineer:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on application modernization.
• Strong proficiency in Groovy and related frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-native services.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and automation tools.

Compensation for the Software Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $120,000 – $140,000 depending on experience
