BI Developer

Piper Companies is seeking a BI Developer to join our team in Wayne, PA. This role is 4 days ONSITE. The BI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining advanced business intelligence solutions that transform raw data into actionable insights. This role requires expertise in Tableau for data visualization, strong SQL skills for data modeling and optimization, and experience with ETL/ELT tools to ensure efficient data integration.

Responsibilities of BI Developer:

• Design, develop, and maintain advanced Tableau dashboards and SSRS reports.
• Ensure visualizations are intuitive, performant, and aligned with business goals.
• Apply best practices in data visualization to communicate complex data effectively.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance across reporting solutions.
• Work with ETL/ELT tools (dbt, Talend, Matillion, or similar) to prepare and transform data for reporting.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines.
• Monitor and improve dashboard performance; tune SQL queries and Tableau extracts for scalability.
• Partner with analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Provide guidance on BI best practices and data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications for Bi Developer:

• 7+ years in BI development, data analytics, or related roles.
• Advanced proficiency in Tableau (Desktop and Server).
• Strong SQL skills, including stored procedures, views, and functions.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools (dbt, Talend, Matillion, or similar).
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and cloud platforms (Snowflake, AWS, Azure).
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices and version control (e.g., Git).
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and data modeling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.

Compensation for BI Developer:

• $120,000 - $140,000 annual base salary
