Machinist

Piper Companies is seeking a Machinist to support an in-house machining program for a leading industrial organization. The Machinist role is ideal for an experienced professional with CNC programming expertise and the ability to produce custom parts to minimize equipment downtime. This role is a contract opportunity and requires you to sit on site in Clayton, NC.

Responsibilities of the Machinist:

• Program and operate CNC lathes (Haas ST25LY) using G-code and onboard software.
• Manufacture small batches of precision parts, primarily stainless steel and occasional Hastelloy.
• Interpret technical drawings and 3D designs to create accurate machining programs.
• Build and maintain a pool of parts, including scanning and programming components.
• Provide training to team members on CNC machine operation and best practices.

Requirements of the Machinist:

• 6+ years of CNC machining and programming experience.
• Proficiency with Haas ST25LY and G-code programming.
• Strong 3D design background and familiarity with CAM software.
• Ability to produce custom parts and troubleshoot machining challenges.
• Must work on-site in Clayton, NC.

Compensation for the Machinist includes:

• Salary range: $30.00- $50.00 per hour, depending on experience
• Contract role with potential for extension
