Piper Companies is seeking a Process Engineer to support the development and optimization of manufacturing processes within a biology and life sciences environment. The Process Engineer role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in bioprocessing, continuous improvement, and compliance with industry standards. The Process Engineer role requires you to work onsite in Greenville, NC and is a long term contract opportunity.
Responsibilities of the Process Engineer:
- Design, implement, and optimize bioprocessing workflows for production and scale-up.
- Collaborate with R&D, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams to ensure process efficiency and reliability.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs and validation protocols.
- Monitor and analyze process performance data to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (GMP, GLP) and company quality standards.
- Support technology transfer from development to manufacturing.
Requirements of the Process Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in process engineering within biology, biotechnology, or life sciences industries.
- Strong understanding of bioprocessing techniques, fermentation, and downstream processing.
- Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and quality systems (GMP, ISO).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in process modeling and data analysis tools.
Compensation for the Process Engineer includes:
- $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience
- Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law
