Piper Companies is seeking a Principal Cyber Incident Coordinator to join a large enterprise pharma/healthcare organization in a highly visible security leadership role. This position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing responses to high-impact cybersecurity incidents, ensuring effective containment, communication, and continuous improvement of incident response practices. This is a hybrid role with occasional on-site duties in Dallas, TX or Philadelphia, PA.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate enterprise-wide response efforts for major cybersecurity incidents from detection through recovery.
  • Serve as the primary escalation and coordination point during critical incidents, aligning technical, legal, compliance, and business stakeholders.
  • Manage incident communications and provide clear, timely updates to leadership.
  • Develop and maintain incident response playbooks, reporting, and post-incident reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, process enhancements, and readiness exercises.
  • Track and report incident metrics and trends to inform operational and executive decisions.
  • Coordinate remediation activities related to vulnerabilities and high-risk security findings.
  • Ensure incident response activities meet regulatory, legal, and internal compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of cybersecurity experience with a strong focus on incident response or cyber crisis management.
  • Proven experience coordinating enterprise-level incident response efforts.
  • Strong knowledge of incident response frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27035) and regulated environments (HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to brief both technical teams and executive leadership.
  • Experience managing multiple incidents in high-pressure situations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • Relevant certifications preferred (CISSP, CISM, GCIH).

Compensation:

  • Salary: up to $230K plus bonus
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, Sick Leave if required by law
