Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Manager of Cyber Incident Response to lead and scale a global SOC and incident response function for a large enterprise environment. This is a hands-on, player-coach role focused on improving response maturity, bridging global teams, and shaping tools and processes. This is a HYBRID role with some on-site required in Dallas, TX.


Responsibilities

  • Lead a globally distributed SOC and incident response team, serving as the escalation point for all critical incidents
  • Act as a player-coach, supporting complex investigations while mentoring and developing the team
  • Oversee incident response for escalations from a third-party managed SOC (Tier 1/2)
  • Build and support an expanding forensic capability within the response team
  • Drive alignment across global teams, with a strong focus on communication, cultural awareness, and collaboration
  • Manage response efforts across both IT and OT environments
  • Develop and mature incident response processes, playbooks, and metrics aligned to NIST targets
  • Partner with IT, Legal, Compliance, and Security leadership during investigations
  • Support 24/7 global operations, including on-call responsibilities

Experience

  • 8–10 years of cybersecurity experience, with a strong background in SOC operations and incident response
  • Experience leading global teams in large enterprise or highly matrixed environments
  • Proven ability to manage and scale major security incidents
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, and forensic tools; technology-agnostic mindset
  • Exposure to IT and OT environments (deep OT expertise not required)
  • Experience working with third-party SOC or managed security providers
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to navigate cultural differences and build cohesive teams
  • Familiarity with NIST-based security maturity models
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; relevant certifications (GCIH, GCFA, CISSP, etc.) a plus

Compensation:

  • Annual salary: $180,000 - $210,000 (depending on experience)
  • Bonus: 10% discretionary bonus
