Piper Companies is seeking a skilled Scientist (Analytical Chem) to support R&D, process analytical technologies projects for a large, well-established biopharmaceutical organization out of Frederick, MD.

 

Responsibilities of the R&D Scientist:

·       Execute advanced spectroscopy experiments, including Raman and FTIR/infrared spectroscopy, to support analytical and experimental research objectives.

·       Perform analytical techniques, including HPLC, FTIR, LCMS, chromatography, mass spectrometry and other advanced analytical methods to support qualitative and quantitative characterization in research and development environments

·       Collaborate with cross functional teams on status updates of project

·       Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and regulatory use

 

Qualifications of the R&D Scientist:

·        Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) in Analytical Chemistry or a closely related field (Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Materials Science, Environmental Chemistry, Forensic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, etc.)

·        4+ years of strong post doc/academic experience with analytical methods such as GC/MS, Mass Spectrometry, LC-MS, FTIR, HPLC, Infrared Spectroscopy, Raman Spectroscopy

·        Experience in cell culture is highly preferred, not required

·        Understanding of biologics (GMP) manufacturing processes including mammalian cell culture, purification, scale up processes

·        Experience with monoclonal antibodies and cell/gene therapies preferred

 

Compensation of the R&D Scientist:

·        Salary: Between $90,000 - $115,000 based on years of relevant experience

o  This is a contract through 2027 with potential for extension
