Piper Companies is seeking a Staff Full Stack AI Engineer to support platform development, greenfield initiatives, and early‑stage AI feature exploration for an exam‑prep organization focused on delivering accurate, original, and purpose‑built test preparation content. The candidate will sit in office with a flexible hybrid work schedule in Durham, NC.
Responsibilities include:
· Build full‑stack and AI‑driven systems using Typescript and Python, rapidly executing high‑level concepts with a self‑driven, hacker mindset
· Lead R&D efforts including greenfield development, proofs of concept, API integrations, and functional prototypes for exam readiness, content individualization, and directed topic learning
· Contribute to technical planning by defining scope, evaluating complexity, and architecting solutions grown from R&D work
Qualifications include:
· 7–10 years full‑stack engineering experience
· Strong experience in Typescript, Python, and exposure to LLMs and ML/AI concepts
· Ability to explore, test, and benchmark emerging AI tools and technologies
Compensation includes:
· $175,000 – $210,000 annually with Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, PTO, and sick leave as required by law
· Flexible Hybrid Schedule
