Principal FullStack Software Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Principal Full Stack Software Engineer to lead the architecture and delivery of modern enterprise applications. This Principal Full Stack Software Engineer will support a high‑impact initiative and guide engineering best practices across multiple teams.

This role will be located in Smithfield, RI or Merrimack, NH and will be Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite per week.

Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, and REST APIs.
• Architect cloud‑ready solutions leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Oversee CI/CD pipeline development using Jenkins.
• Guide engineering teams through GitHub review processes and coding best practices.
• Support frontend efforts using Angular and React.
• Partner with product owners, architects, and senior stakeholders in an Agile delivery model.
• Mentor engineering teams and drive adoption of automation and quality standards.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of full‑stack engineering experience with Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, REST APIs, PostgreSQL/SQL.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS.
• CI/CD experience with Jenkins/Jenkins Core.
• Source control expertise with GitHub.
• Strong experience with Angular and/or React.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.
• Prior Agile development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Compensation for the Principal Full Stack Software Engineer:

· Compensation based on experience
