Machinist

Piper Companies is seeking an experienced Machinist to support an in-house machining program for a leading pharmaceutical organization. This is a contract, on-site role based in Clayton, NC, ideal for a skilled professional with CNC programming expertise and a strong background in precision part manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities of the Machinist:

• Program and operate CNC lathes (Haas ST25LY) using G-code and onboard software.
• Manufacture small batches of precision components, primarily in stainless steel with occasional Hastelloy.
• Interpret technical drawings and 3D models to develop accurate machining programs.
• Build and maintain a parts inventory, including scanning and programming components.
• Train team members on CNC machine operation and best practices.

Required Qualifications of the Machinist:

• 6+ years of CNC machining and programming experience.
• Proficiency with Haas ST25LY and G-code programming.
• Strong background in 3D design and familiarity with CAM software.
• Ability to produce custom parts and troubleshoot machining challenges.
• Must be able to work on-site in Clayton, NC.

Compensation of the Machinist:

• $30.00 – $50.00 per hour, based on experience.
• Contract position with potential for extension.
