Part-Time Machinist

Piper Companies is seeking a Part-Time Machinist to join a global leader in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry. This is an onsite contract position located in Clayton, NC, offering 20 hours per week. The Machinist will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations by operating and maintaining precision machinery to ensure high-quality production and efficiency.

Responsibilities of the Part-Time Machinist:

• Operate and maintain CNC and manual machines to produce precision components.
• Conduct routine inspections and measurements to verify compliance with specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to optimize machine performance.
• Follow all safety protocols and GMP standards in a regulated environment.

Qualifications of the Part-Time Machinist:

• Previous experience operating CNC and manual machining equipment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and machining processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Familiarity with GMP and safety standards in a manufacturing setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.

Compensation & Benefits of the Part-Time Machinist:

• Salary Range: $62,000 – $82,000/year (based on experience)
• Benefits: Medical (Cigna), Dental (Guardian), Vision (VSP), sick leave (as required by law), and 401(k) through Voya via ADP.
