Piper Companies is seeking a Therapeutic Strategy Lead (CNS – Neurodegenerative Diseases) to serve as the senior scientific and clinical expert for a global clinical research organization. In this role, you’ll drive therapeutic strategy, elevate clinical design quality, and strengthen relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and high‑performing investigative sites across the CNS landscape. This is a full-time, fully remote position offering competitive compensation of $350K–$400K annually.


Responsibilities of the Therapeutic Strategy Lead:

  • Provide deep therapeutic and scientific leadership for protocol design, feasibility, and scientific advisory engagements, ensuring alignment with global standards of care and late‑stage development trends in CNS and neurodegeneration.
  • Serve as the lead clinical expert for proposals, bid defenses, and early concepting, delivering therapeutic rationale, competitive landscape insights, and risk/mitigation strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with KOLs, PIs, and clinical sites; support investigator identification and site-selection strategies to enhance enrollment performance and data quality.
  • Translate therapeutic strategy into operational requirements, contributing to global budgets, timelines, monitoring approaches, and vendor selection.
  • Advise cross-functional teams on regulatory strategy, endpoint selection, safety monitoring, and comparator standards to meet label and payer expectations.
  • Mentor internal teams on therapeutic science and best practices; contribute to organizational capability building and thought leadership.


Qualifications of the Therapeutic Strategy Lead:

  • Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD or equivalent); board certification or clinical practice experience preferred.
  • Significant therapeutic expertise in CNS
  • Significant experience in drug development within a sponsor, CRO, or academic environment, including late‑phase clinical program involvement.
  • Proven scientific credibility with CNS‑focused KOLs, investigators, and clinical sites.
  • Experience contributing to commercial proposals and study design with the ability to balance scientific rigor against operational and commercial constraints.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to integrate therapeutic landscape, regulatory context, and competitive intelligence into actionable development plans.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for both scientific and commercial audiences.
  • High degree of cross-functional collaboration and influence, working effectively with medical services, operations, business development, regulatory, and safety teams.
  • Commercial acumen, including experience estimating program costs, operational risks, and resourcing needs.


Compensation for the Therapeutic Strategy Lead:

  • Salary: $350,000–$400,000 annually
