Network Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Network Engineer to support a high-security government program onsite at Fort Meade, MD. The Network Engineer role is ideal for a senior-level professional with extensive experience in Python scripting, network troubleshooting, and data analytics, as well as strong knowledge of compliance and security practices.

Responsibilities of the Network Engineer:

• Analyze complex network data and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance and security.

• Develop and maintain advanced Python scripts for automation and data analysis within the network environment.

• Utilize Splunk for compliance monitoring, security analysis, and operational insights.

• Collaborate directly with customers to gather requirements, provide technical recommendations, and deliver actionable insights.

• Work closely with internal teams to ensure network integrity and compliance with security standards.

Qualifications of the Network Engineer:

• 8–10 years of senior-level network engineering experience.

• Deep expertise in network troubleshooting and data analytics.

• Strong proficiency in Python scripting for automation and analysis.

• Hands-on experience with Splunk in compliance and security-focused environments.

• Active Full Scope Polygraph clearance required.

• Ability to work onsite at Fort Meade, MD.

• Excellent communication skills for customer-facing interactions.

Compensation for the Network Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $200,000 – $230,000 depending on experience

• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO
