Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Associate, Deep & Dark Web intelligence to join a leading digital intelligence, investigation, and risk advisory firm that helps multinational corporations, law firms, investors, and private clients identify and mitigate risk using advanced technology and intelligence tradecraft. The Senior will leverage both open-source and proprietary tools to collect, assess, and parse data from open and closed Deep and Dark Web sources. Senior Associates then use that data in support of Dark Web threat assessments, post-breach investigations, and other discrete Dark Web intelligence matters.
Responsibilities of the Senior Associate:
- Conducting in-depth Dark Web investigations and assessments for corporate and individual subjects.
- Monitoring the Deep and Dark Web using a variety of in-house and third-party tools.
- Identifying new Dark Web sources for collection and analysis.
- Engaging with threat actors to obtain non-publicly posted datasets.
- Producing both in-depth and summary/trend reports on findings that can be read by clients regardless of their level of technical expertise.
- Assisting with online threat attribution and other OSINT-focused investigations.
- Assisting with Python programming, if qualified to do so.
Qualifications of the Senior Associate:
- 2-5 years of relevant public or private sector experience.
- Experience with OSINT-focused investigations.
- Experience operating undercover on social media platforms, Dark Web markets, forums, and messaging platforms.
- Experience navigating Dark Web sources, managing online personas, and using dark web collection tools to uncover actionable intelligence.
- Understanding of cyber concepts needed to accurately provide context for findings.
- Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple projects at once with limited supervision
- Proficiency in a foreign language, especially in Chinese, Arabic, Russian, or Spanish.
- Experience with breach data analysis.
- Experience using Maltego and Python for data collection and analysis.
Compensation of the Senior Associate:
- $85,000 - $110,000 + Bonus
