Senior DevOps Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join an innovative organization in the financial technology industry for a permanent, hybrid position based out of Durham, NC. The Senior DevOps Engineer will focus heavily on infrastructure, security, and cloud engineering while supporting multiple development teams in a fast‑moving environment.

Responsibilities of the Senior DevOps Engineer include:

· Build, maintain, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure, including EKS, EC2, S3, and IAM.

· Deploy and manage Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform for scalable and repeatable environments.

· Support infrastructure security initiatives, vulnerability remediation, and adherence to best practices.

· Participate in 24/7 on‑call rotation and perform after‑hours infrastructure maintenance as required.

· Contribute to multi-region architecture, including environment replication and upcoming AWS migration efforts.

Qualifications for the Senior DevOps Engineer include:

· 6+ years of DevOps experience with the majority focused on AWS environments.

· Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS specifically) and container orchestration.

· Proficiency in Linux administration, including provisioning, configuration, and system management.

· Experience with Terraform and general Infrastructure-as-Code tooling.

· Knowledge of EC2 management, S3 utilization, IAM concepts, PostgreSQL, and log stack technologies (ELK/ILK).

Compensation for the Senior DevOps Engineer:

· Salary Range: $120,000–$135,000/year (USD)

· Additional Compensation: Up to $5,000 personal performance bonus at the end of the first fiscal year (prorated if applicable)
