Senior Metrology Technician (Biotech)

Piper Health & Sciences is seeking a Senior Metrology Technician to join an innovative biotechnology organization in the Silver Spring, MD area.

Responsibilities of the Senior Metrology Technician:

·       Perform calibration of instruments such as Autoclaves, Incubators, Freezers, Refrigerators, BMS/BAS Systems, Bioreactors, AHU’s, CIP/SIP Systems, RODI Systems, WFI Systems, Utility Systems, CTUs, Centrifuges, Gauges, Differential Pressure (DPs), and other manufacturing/laboratory equipment

·       Maintain and document calibration records and certificates.

·       Ensure all calibration activities comply with regulatory and quality standards.

·       Troubleshoot and repair calibration equipment as necessary.

·       Develop and implement calibration procedures and schedules.

·       Collaborate with other departments to ensure all instruments are properly calibrated and maintained.

Qualifications of the Senior Metrology Technician:

·       4+ years of GMP experience working in metrology, calibration, instrument calibration or equipment calibration

·       Must have experience within biotech, pharmaceutical, med device, or other GMP environment; familiarity with ALCOA+

·       Experience with environmental monitoring equipment support (temperature/humidity sensors, controlled storage mapping for cold rooms, freezers, incubators)

·       Must have experience with CMMS/Calibration systems such as Blue Mountain RAM, Beamex/CMX, ProCalV5, Maximo, or similar

·       Experience with calibration & verification of lab and GMP equipment (balances, pipettes, pH/conductivity meters, thermometers/RTDs, data loggers, centrifuges, incubators, environmental chambers)

·       Understanding of GMP/GLP regulations (21 CFR Part 11, data integrity/ALCOA+, audit readiness)

·       Troubleshooting instrumentation issues and performing minor repairs or coordinating vendor service

Compensation for the Senior Metrology Technician:

·       Salary: Between $40.00 – 50.00/hourly depending on years of experience
