Piper Companies is seeking a proactive and highly skilled Senior Facilities & Vendor Specialist to join a mission-driven biotechnology company known for its bold innovation, purpose-drive culture and commitment to tackling some of the toughest challenges in science and technology out of the Washington, DC area. The Senior Facilities & Vendor Specialist will be responsible for a mix of facilities  and construction management quickly assessing issues, determining solutions and coordinating appropriate resources.

 

Responsibilities of the Senior Facilities & Vendor Specialist:

·       Oversee daily facility operations, inspections, and afterhours needs while ensuring maintenance is completed safely, efficiently, and within budget

·       Manage all building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, refrigeration, lifesafety, security, and IT) and monitor performance to prevent downtime

·       Coordinate with security, IT, and office teams on equipment testing, walkthroughs, and overall operational continuity

·       Handle vendor management, including service contracts, RFP reviews, negotiations, and issue resolution

·       Support construction and renovation projects by coordinating contractors, schedules, progress tracking, and daytoday project activities

·       Maintain SOPs, documentation, regulatory compliance, and annual budget tracking.

·       Perform additional project coordination tasks as requested by the legal project or facilities teams

 

Qualifications of the Senior Facilities & Vendor Specialist:

·       H.S. Diploma or GED with 8+ years of experience in construction, project management, and/or facilities management; OR Associate’s Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of relevant experience

·       Previous experience working in a GMP environment (Biotech, Medical Device, Pharmaceutical)

·       Proven experience working with HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Refrigeration building systems

·       Experience working with facilities management programs and systems

·       Strong communication skills and proven ability to handle vendor management

·       Experience working with service contracts, RFP, negotiations, and vendors

·       Solid technical skills – Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Veeva, SAP, LIMS, etc.

·       Proven ability to manage timelines/budgets, track expenses, and oversee a team

 

Compensation of the Senior Facilities & Vendor Specialist:

·       Salary: Between $85,000 - $105,000 based on years of relevant experience
