Hybrid Cloud Engineer - Azure

Piper Companies is seeking a Hybrid Cloud Engineer - Azure to support a leading healthcare services organization through hybrid work in Columbia, MD. This role is ideal for someone experienced in both traditional Windows enterprise environments and Azure cloud services, who enjoys collaborating across teams to strengthen infrastructure reliability, modernize cloud capabilities, and support critical business applications.

Responsibilities of the Hybrid Cloud Engineer:

• Design and support hybrid infrastructure solutions spanning on‑premises Windows Server environments and Azure cloud services

• Lead cloud‑readiness and modernization efforts by gathering requirements, delivering proof‑of‑concepts, and deploying Azure services such as Azure Arc, Log Analytics, Key Vault, Storage Accounts, and Azure AD Groups. 

• Maintain and enhance enterprise Windows services—including Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, PKI/certificates, and networking components

• Contribute to automation and documentation through scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash), developing SOPs and knowledge articles, and supporting incident resolution as a Tier 3 escalation resource.

Qualifications of the Hybrid Cloud Engineer:

• 5+ years of related experience in cloud or system engineering

• Strong background in enterprise Windows infrastructure

• Hands‑on experience with Azure services such as Azure Arc, Log Analytics, Key Vault, Azure AD Groups, and Storage Accounts. 

• Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, PKI/certificates, and enterprise networking. 

• Strong PowerShell automation skills; familiarity with other scripting languages a plus. 

• Experience working alongside software development teams and cross‑functional IS groups. 

• Bachelor’s degree or an additional 3+ years of experience in lieu of degree 

Compensation of the Hybrid Cloud Engineer:

• Salary Range: $125,000 - $140,000 (based on experience)
