Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer

Piper Companies is looking for a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to join a rapidly growing fintech team located in Raleigh, NC to support the design, automation, and operation of highly available cloud‑based infrastructure and modern DevOps systems. The ideal Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer with work on site Tuesday - Thursday in Raleigh, NC.

Responsibilities for the Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer:

• Lead efforts to manage and scale highly available, cloud‑based distributed systems while driving automation across the environment.
• Enhance observability and reliability by building monitoring, resiliency, and performance‑health frameworks for mission‑critical services.
• Oversee deployments, upgrades, and configuration changes across staging and production environments while serving as a key SME for DevOps initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, improve systems, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Qualifications for the Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer:

• 6+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Systems Engineer, or Cloud Engineer supporting large‑scale production environments.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services, Linux operations, Kubernetes, Docker,
• Proficiency with automation and CI/CD toolsets such as Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Git.
• Experience with SQL Server and Postgres, including performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
• Strong scripting ability in Python, Java, or Shell.
• Solid background in network security technologies: DNS, VPN/VPC, IDS/IPS, subnets, ACLs, security groups, HA/DR, IAM, WAF, and key‑management solutions.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent hands‑on experience).

Compensation/Benefits for the Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer:

• Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 depending on experience
