Piper Companies is seeking a Field Training and Support Engineer to join a global counter-drone technology company based in McLean, VA. Field Training and Support Engineer will serve as the technical cornerstone for the Customer success organization. This position will be on-site in McLean, VA five days a week!
Responsibilities of the Field Training and Support Engineer include:
- Deliver high‑impact in‑person and virtual training sessions across hardware and software platforms.
- Design, refine, and expand training programs that cover current features and upcoming product enhancements.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison for external service partners, assessing, training, and overseeing their performance.
- Ensure partners consistently meet organizational standards for field delivery and customer support.
- Maintain deep subject‑matter expertise in RF‑based C‑UAS technologies.
- Represent the product to U.S. customers, translating field insights into clear feedback for engineering and product teams.
- Act as a Tier 2 escalation point for complex technical issues, troubleshooting and resolving advanced system problems.
- Participate in a support rotation to ensure uninterrupted coverage for critical customer needs.
- Lead or support site surveys, system installations, configurations, and end‑to‑end testing in varying RF environments.
- Ensure hardware and software solutions are optimized for each unique operational setting.
- Develop, review, and validate technical documentation including manuals, Statements of Work (SOW), and best‑practice guides for users and partners.
Qualifications for the Field Training and Support Engineer include:
- 5-7+ years of experience in Field Engineering, Technical Training, or Professional Services within a high-tech hardware/software environment.
- Deep technical knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) systems and Counter-UAS (C-UAS) technology is required.
- Demonstrated experience managing and scaling third-party service providers or channel partners.
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (Highly Preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
Compensation for the Field Training and Support Engineer include:
- Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000
- Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave if required by law, and Holidays
