Principal Scientist

Piper Companies is seeking a Principal Scientist to support a global organization within the life sciences and analytical research industry for a permanent, onsite position based out of Whitesboro, NY. The Principal Scientist will drive advanced LCMS‑based studies, oversee complex analytical initiatives, and collaborate closely with project teams and clients across multiple programs.

Responsibilities of the Principal Scientist include:

· Lead hands-on LCMS and LCMSMS experimental work, ensuring high-quality data generation and interpretation.

· Partner with project management to shape study timelines, deliverables, and technical objectives.

· Communicate study progress and analytical findings to internal teams and external clients.

· Recommend and support improvements to laboratory workflows, analytical processes, and scientific documentation.

· Contribute to scientific publications and participate in workshops or seminars to strengthen technical expertise.

Qualifications for the Principal Scientist include:

· Minimum of 5 years of bench-level laboratory experience working with LCMS platforms, including Sciex LCMSMS systems.

· Proficiency with Skyline, in‑silico analysis tools, and protein sequencing software.

· Advanced degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related scientific field (PhD strongly preferred).

· Demonstrated ability to interpret complex protein or peptide data and communicate results effectively.

· Experience engaging with clients and cross-functional teams to support scientific objectives.

Compensation for the Principal Scientist:

· Salary Range: $100,000-$120,000/year (USD)
