Episodic Case Manager

Piper Companies is seeking an Episodic Case Manager to support a nationally recognized organization in the health insurance industry for a fully remote 6‑month contract with extensions and possible conversion. The Episodic Case Manager will assist members experiencing short‑term behavioral health and medical needs, ensuring care is coordinated across various treatment settings. This team specifically supports psychiatric and higher‑acuity populations, with strong emphasis on adolescent and eating disorder care.

Responsibilities of the Episodic Case Manager include:

· Lead short‑duration member cases by developing care approaches aligned to behavioral, medical, and social complexities.

· Coordinate with inpatient facilities, outpatient providers, and community programs to ensure seamless and timely transitions.

· Assess clinical information to determine appropriate levels of care, using tools such as MCG or InterQual.

· Offer clear guidance to members and caregivers regarding care plans, expected recovery steps, and available resources.

· Document episode progression, interventions, and outcomes within electronic systems while monitoring potential barriers to stabilization.

Qualifications for the Episodic Case Manager include:

· Active LPN, RN, LCSW, LPC, LCPC, or similar clinical license (compact accepted for RNs).

· Background supporting psychiatric populations, including eating disorders and/or adolescent behavioral health.

· Experience with inpatient levels of care, utilization management, or residential treatment environments.

· Ability to interpret clinical documentation and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

· Familiarity with utilization review tools such as MCG or InterQual (social worker UR experience using NCG or internal policy is a plus).

Compensation for the Episodic Case Manager:

· Salary Range: $65,000-$78,000/year (USD)
