Network Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Network Engineer to support a leading organization within the technology industry. The Network Engineer role is ideal for an engineer experienced in Cisco enterprise networking, Software‑Defined Access, and Catalyst Center operations. Must sit onsite in Newtown, Pennsylvania

Responsibilities of the Network Engineer:

• Support the provisioning, assurance, and daily operations of Cisco DNAC / Catalyst Center

• Design, deploy, and troubleshoot Cisco Software‑Defined Access solutions

• Support technologies including LISP, SDA components, micro‑segmentation, and DNAC/ISE integrations

• Maintain and optimize environments leveraging the Catalyst 9000 Switch Family (9200‑CX, 9300, 9500, 9600)

• Manage IPv4/IPv6 routing protocols including BGP, IS‑IS, and OSPF

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support secure, scalable enterprise network architectures

• Participate in incident resolution, root‑cause analysis, and environment improvements

Qualifications of the Network Engineer:

• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience with Cisco DNAC / Catalyst Center

• 2+ years of experience with Software‑Defined Access (design, deployment, troubleshooting)

• Strong understanding of LISP, SDA components, micro‑segmentation, and DNAC/ISE integration

• Hands‑on experience with Catalyst 9000 Switches (9200‑CX, 9300, 9500, 9600)

• Proficiency with IPv4/IPv6 routing protocols including BGP, IS‑IS, and OSPF

• Desired: Experience with IPv4/IPv6 Multicast

• Optional: Scripting/DevOps exposure (Python, Ansible, Robot Framework)

Compensation for the Network Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $120,000 - $160,000

• Must be onsite in Newtown, PA
