Network Consultant

Piper Companies is seeking a Network Consultant to support a mission‑driven organization within the federal technology sector. The Network Consultant role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in network analytics, Python scripting, Splunk, API integrations, and data‑driven performance optimization. Needs to be onsite in Ft. Meade, MD

Responsibilities of the Network Consultant:

• Monitor, assess, and optimize network performance across complex and secure enterprise environments.

• Develop Python‑based tools and scripts to automate analysis, reporting, and performance insights.

• Leverage Splunk for log analysis, dashboard creation, and real‑time network visibility.

• Integrate APIs and data sources to enhance network monitoring and analytics workflows.

• Conduct root‑cause analysis, trend forecasting, and capacity planning.

• Collaborate with security, engineering, and operations teams to drive continuous improvement of network performance.

• Operate within strict security protocols while supporting mission‑critical infrastructure.

Qualifications of the Network Consultant:

• 8–10 years of experience in network performance management, analytics, or related technical roles.

• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph clearance required.

• Proficiency with Python, scripting languages, and automation workflows.

• Strong hands‑on experience with Splunk dashboarding, queries, and enterprise ingestion pipelines.

• Background in API integration and data extraction for performance analytics.

• Understanding of enterprise networking, performance metrics, and monitoring tools.

• Ability to analyze complex data sets and present actionable insights to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Compensation for the Network Consultant includes:

• Salary range: $200,000 - $280,000
