Network Specialist - Senior

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Network Specialist to support a high‑performance computing modernization program through On-Site work in Point Loma, CA. This role is ideal for someone experienced in advanced networking environments who enjoys supporting mission‑critical systems within secure, high‑performance computing settings.

Responsibilities of the Senior Network Specialist:

• Support architecture, integration, and optimization of enterprise‑level network and system environments, including routing, switching, firewalls, and system interfaces.

• Evaluate, test, and implement hardware and software solutions while contributing to system‑level design, quality assurance reviews, and performance improvements.

• Develop and maintain system‑wide testing strategies, troubleshooting processes, and documentation for network operations.

• Analyze operational requirements, create custom software or utility enhancements when needed, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver integrated IT solutions.

Qualifications of the Senior Network Specialist:

• 4+ years of hands‑on technical experience in networking or systems engineering.

• Strong background in firewall technologies. 

• Proficiency in routing protocols, switching, VLANs, trunking, and OSI model principles.

• Must be eligible to obtain/maintain Secret-level security clearance

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience considered).

Compensation of the Senior Network Specialist:



• Salary Range: $120,000 – $135,000 (based on experience)
