Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to join an innovative organization at the forefront of advanced hardware development and AI‑driven computing systems for a permanent hybrid role out of Silicon Valley, CA. In this role, the Senior Thermal Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing liquid‑cooling‑centric thermal solutions for cutting‑edge compute platforms deployed in large‑scale AI infrastructures.

Responsibilities of the Senior Thermal Engineer include:

· Drive the development of liquid‑cooling architectures for sophisticated compute systems, including fluid‑delivery routing and full system‑level thermal integration.

· Create comprehensive thermal models spanning chip, package, module, and rack domains to guide engineering decisions and evaluate design tradeoffs.

· Design, optimize, and validate cooling hardware—including cold plates, manifolds, heat spreaders, and associated components—supporting high‑power, high‑density electronic assemblies.

· Lead thermal verification, testing, and measurement efforts, ensuring strong correlation between simulation outputs and laboratory data to refine design performance.

· Partner closely with mechanical, electrical, packaging, and manufacturing groups to ensure thermal considerations are embedded throughout the product development lifecycle.

Qualifications for the Senior Thermal Engineer include:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Sciences, or an equivalent technical field.

· 5+ years of professional experience specializing in liquid‑cooling technologies for electronic hardware, including end‑to‑end product development.

· Deep knowledge of electronic thermal management, advanced cooling techniques, and holistic system‑level thermal design methodologies.

· Proficiency with thermal analysis and simulation platforms such as ANSYS, Icepak, COMSOL, or Flotherm.

· Experience executing thermal validation activities, including instrumentation setup, data collection, and performance characterization.

Compensation for the Senior Thermal Engineer:

Salary Range: $150,000-$175,000/year (USD)

Full Benefits Package: Medical, Dental, Vision, legally required sick leave, and 401(k)
