Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join an established healthcare organization for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This position is HYBRID (travel to the greater Philadelphia and Princeton, NJ areas as needed).
Experience working in a healthcare provider environment (hospital system or similar clinical setting) is required.
Responsibilities of the Senior Project Manager:
- Oversee multiple healthcare real estate and capital improvement projects, managing the full project lifecycle from planning and design through construction, activation, and closeout.
- Lead ground-up builds, facility expansions, and clinical space renovations (including ambulatory sites and specialty care centers).
- Coordinate architects, engineers, general contractors, medical equipment vendors, and internal operational stakeholders.
- Ensure seamless integration of new or renovated facilities with existing clinical, administrative, and revenue cycle operations.
- Drive project governance, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Partner with clinical leadership to ensure facility design supports patient care workflows and operational efficiency.
Qualifications of the Senior Project Manager:
- 7+ years of project management experience, with significant experience leading healthcare real estate, construction, or capital projects.
- Required: Experience within a healthcare provider environment (hospital system, health network, or large ambulatory footprint).
- Experience managing ambulatory build-outs, practice expansions, or hospital renovation projects.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulatory requirements (e.g., life safety, infection control, state/local compliance).
- Experience coordinating medical equipment planning and facility infrastructure (e.g., imaging suites, procedure rooms, medical gas, emergency power).
- Demonstrated expertise in program and project management disciplines within complex healthcare environments.
- Strong budgeting, vendor management, and contract oversight experience.
- Proficient in developing project plans, schedules, risk assessments, and executive-level reporting.
- Strong stakeholder management and business analysis skills, including operational workflow alignment.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Compensation for the Senior Project Manager:
- Hourly Rate: $70–$80/hour (depending on experience)
