Data Scientist

Piper Companies is currently seeking a Data Scientist for a fully remote opportunity with a leading analytics‑driven organization. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about building predictive models, optimizing large datasets, and contributing to high‑impact machine‑learning initiatives. The position offers a competitive salary of $116,000 and does not require a clearance.

Responsibilities of the Data Scientist:

• Develop, train, and optimize machine‑learning models, including regularization techniques such as LASSO
• Build and maintain ML pipelines and support MLOps workflows across the full model lifecycle
• Analyze large‑scale datasets to drive insights, support decision‑making, and improve processes
• Utilize tools such as Python, PySpark, SQL, R, Databricks, MLFlow, GitHub, Docker, and Amazon SageMaker
• Ensure strong model governance, documentation, and reproducibility standards
• Present complex analytical findings to non‑technical stakeholders in a clear, actionable manner

Qualifications of the Data Scientist:

• 5+ years of hands‑on data science experience
• Proficiency with Python, PySpark, SQL, and R
• Experience with Databricks and Amazon SageMaker
• Strong understanding of machine‑learning models, model tuning, and best‑practice MLOps
• Ability to work with large datasets and build production‑grade predictive models
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate insights to cross‑functional teams
• Healthcare or claims analysis experience is a major plus
• SAS experience preferred but not required
• No security clearance required

Compensation & Benefits of the Data Scientist:

• Salary: $116,000 annually
