Piper Companies is seeking a Level II Biomedical Imaging Specialist to join a healthcare company located in Philadelphia, PA through an onsite, permanent position. The Biomedical Imaging Specialist II will provide advanced departmental support by installing, maintaining, testing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing specialized biomedical and imaging equipment, clinical data and network systems, and related technologies.
Responsibilities of the Biomedical Imaging Specialist II include:
- Consistently completes preventive maintenance tasks to maintain a high level of ongoing compliance.
- Performs safety inspections, repairs, and installations for biomedical and communications equipment.
- Conducts safety inspections on biomedical and communications equipment and performs repairs to ensure proper equipment function
- Installs biomedical equipment and communications equipment systems as required
Qualifications for the Biomedical Imaging Specialist II include:
- High school diploma is mandatory, associate’s degree is ideal
- Completion of equipment-specific training course/certification related to the equipment specific specialty area of expertise is desired
- Further training in other modalities; examples include Anesthesia, Ultrasound, X-Ray, Cath Lab, etc.
- Minimum of 3 years of advanced experience in performing direct component and/or restoration and maintenance on both general and model-specific equipment in the medical imaging discipline
- Ideal Licenses/Certifications
- Desired: CRES – Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist
- CBET (Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician)
- Military (DoD) Biomedical Equipment Technician certification
- Vendor and manufacturer (OEM) repair/training certification(s) or comparable qualifications
Compensation/Schedule for the Biomedical Imaging Specialist II includes:
- Pay Rate: Flexible depending on background/experience, qualifications, and certifications
- Typical Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 6:00 PM (8-hour day / split shift)
- Shift 1: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm / Shift 2: 9:30 am to 6:00 pm
- Flexible work schedule: traveling to different sites, some before or after hours/weekend/holiday work may be necessary
