Director of Software Engineering (Networking)

Piper Companies is seeking a Director of Software Engineering (Networking) to lead engineering initiatives for an organization within the networking and infrastructure technology industry. Responsibilities of the Director of Software Engineering (Networking):

• Lead and scale software engineering programs focused on networking, systems, and infrastructure technologies.

• Drive execution across engineering initiatives with an emphasis on building, delivery, and organizational impact.

• Collaborate closely with product, hardware, and platform teams to deliver high-performing networking solutions.

• Influence technical strategy and guide development practices across the engineering organization.

• Partner with internal stakeholders to support program growth, roadmap planning, and cross-functional alignment.

• Ensure a strong engineering culture centered on ownership, delivery excellence, and continuous improvement.

Requirements of the Director of Software Engineering (Networking):

• Proven leadership experience as a Software Director, Senior Director, or VP within networking, systems, or infrastructure-focused companies.

• Strong background in networking technologies, distributed systems, or infrastructure engineering.

• Experience working closely with SDKs or developer platforms is a plus.

• Execution-oriented mindset with a passion for building teams, processes, and programs from the ground up.

• Motivated by organizational growth, team development, and scaling engineering capabilities.

Compensation for the Director of Software Engineering (Networking):

• Salary range: $300,000 - $330,000 base salary

• Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law.
