Senior Full Stack Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join a major player in the financial services industry on a long-term contract based near Smithfield, RI or Merrimack, NH. The Senior Full Stack Engineer will work across the full technology stack, designing and implementing high-quality, cloud-ready solutions with modern frameworks and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities of the Senior Full Stack Engineer include:

· Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, REST APIs, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL/SQL.

· Implement and support front-end features using modern web frameworks such as Angular and/or React.

· Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation using Jenkins, GitHub, and related deployment tools to support efficient, reliable releases.

· Collaborate with Systems Analysts, SDETs, and other engineers within Agile squads to refine requirements, estimate work, and deliver high-quality features.

· Participate in code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and support test automation and quality best practices across the stack.

Qualifications for the Senior Full Stack Engineer include:

· 6–10 years of hands-on software development experience with strong full stack capabilities (Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, REST APIs, SQL/PostgreSQL).

· Practical experience building and supporting front-end applications using Angular and/or React.

· Experience working with containerization and cloud technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform is a plus).

· Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins), Git-based workflows (GitHub), and Agile methodologies.

· Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and collaborative mindset; prior financial services experience is preferred but not required.

Compensation for the Senior Full Stack Engineer:

· Salary: $165,000-$180,000/year (USD)
