Purchasing Specialist

Piper Companies is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support a leading medical device organization focused on improving outcomes for patients with musculoskeletal disorders. This role will partner with manufacturing, engineering, and planning teams to manage purchasing operations, supplier relationships, and inventory procurement. The ideal candidate will help ensure materials and services are acquired in a cost-effective and timely manner while maintaining strong supplier performance and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Review and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier quote requests to support operational needs
• Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturing, and accounts payable to ensure timely delivery and accurate invoicing
• Monitor supplier performance, resolving issues related to late shipments, quality concerns, or order discrepancies
• Conduct cost analysis and volume planning for materials, components, and services to support cost-saving initiatives
• Maintain procurement system data accuracy and support inventory planning and supply chain coordination

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
• 1+ years of experience or an internship of purchasing or procurement experience
• Experience managing purchase orders, supplier relationships, and procurement processes
• Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Compensation:

• $65,000-70,000
