Category Manager – Procurement & Agencies

Piper Companies is seeking a Category Manager – Procurement & Agencies to join an industry‑leading organization in the pharmaceutical and healthcare space for a 12-month hybrid contract role based out of Atlanta, GA. The Category Manager – Procurement & Agencies will guide the execution of category strategies, oversee supplier partnerships, and lead end‑to‑end procurement initiatives across agency, media, and marketing‑related categories.

Responsibilities of the Category Manager – Procurement & Agencies include:

· Drive the execution of category strategies by collaborating closely with senior business leaders and strategic suppliers.

· Lead supplier relationship activities, ensuring performance, innovation opportunities, and sustainability commitments are met.

· Oversee sourcing projects from initiation through negotiation and contracting, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.

· Analyze market trends and spend data to identify strategic opportunities and inform long‑term planning.

· Manage complex cross‑functional projects designed to optimize procurement processes and deliver measurable value.

Qualifications for the Category Manager – Procurement & Agencies include:

· At least 7 years of experience in strategic procurement roles with proven exposure to agency, media, or marketing categories.

· Pharma or life sciences industry experience strongly preferred.

· Background contributing to or building category strategies and leading end‑to‑end procurement processes.

· Strong abilities in negotiation, supplier management, project leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration.

· Bachelor’s degree preferred; advanced sourcing or procurement certifications are a plus.

Compensation for the Category Manager – Procurement & Agencies:

Salary Range: $120,000-$140,000/year (USD)

Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, sick leave if required by law, and 401K
