Sr. Platform & Network Security Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. Platform & Network Security Engineer to support a leading organization in the cloud‑native infrastructure and security engineering industry. The Sr. Platform & Network Security Engineer role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep experience in secure network architectures, compliance frameworks, and modern infrastructure automation.

Responsibilities of the Sr. Platform & Network Security Engineer:

• Deconstruct regulatory mandates—such as NIS2, SOC2, and NIS2 Directive Article 21—into actionable technical requirements and engineering tasks.

• Implement compliance‑as‑code solutions using tools such as Open Policy Agent (OPA) or AWS Config.

• Design, deploy, and maintain secure IaC‑driven infrastructure environments using Terraform, Ansible, and Python.

• Architect and support advanced networking solutions including SDN, Zero Trust architectures, and cloud‑native networking (VPCs, transit gateways, etc.).

• Collaborate with security, cloud, compliance, and platform engineering teams to drive secure system design and continuous controls monitoring.

• Support compliance initiatives and contribute to implementation efforts across NIST, SOC2, or related frameworks.

• Maintain and enhance secure network posture across distributed cloud environments.

Qualifications of the Sr. Platform & Network Security Engineer:

• 10+ years of IT, platform engineering, or network security experience.

• Hands‑on experience translating NIS2, SOC2, or similar regulatory standards into technical implementations.

• Experience implementing compliance‑as‑code frameworks (OPA, AWS Config, or similar).

• Strong background in Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Terraform, Ansible, and Python.

• Deep experience in networking—SDN, Zero Trust architectures, and cloud‑native networking components such as VPCs and transit gateways.

• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network security principles.

• CISSP or similar security certification preferred.

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.—no visa sponsorship offered.

• Ability to work fully remote, EST timezone required.

Compensation for the Sr. Platform & Network Security Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $140,000 - $175,000

• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO

• Remote work flexibility (EST timezone required)

• 1‑year contract‑to‑hire opportunity
