Network Automation Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Network Automation Engineer to support a growing initiative within a leading organization in the technology services industry. The Network Automation Engineer will blend traditional networking fundamentals with modern DevOps and automation practices, focusing on Infrastructure as Code (IaC), network automation workflows, and tooling such as Terraform.

Responsibilities of the Network Automation Engineer:

• Assist in automating network infrastructure deployments and configurations using IaC methodologies.

• Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflows to improve network reliability and scalability.

• Support implementation and optimization of Terraform and related tools for network provisioning.

• Collaborate with network engineering and DevOps teams to integrate automation into existing network environments.

• Participate in troubleshooting, validation, and testing of automated network solutions.

• Document automation processes, architecture patterns, and operational procedures.

Qualifications of the Network Automation Engineer:

• 3+ years of experience in network engineering or network automation.

• Must be eligible to obtain a secret clearance.

• Foundational knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, and core networking concepts.

• Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with Terraform, Python, Ansible, or similar automation tools.

• Understanding of CI/CD principles and how they apply to network workflows.

• Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.

• Strong problem‑solving skills and eagerness to grow in an automation‑focused engineering role.

Compensation for the Network Automation Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $100,000 – $130,000 depending on experience
