Director of Software Engineering - Networking

Piper Companies is seeking a Director of Software Engineering – Networking to support an innovative organization in the networking and infrastructure technology space for a permanent onsite position based out of Saratoga, CA. The Director of Software Engineering – Networking will guide day‑to‑day engineering leadership, oversee delivery of software initiatives, and help scale a rapidly growing technical organization.

Responsibilities of the Director of Software Engineering – Networking include:

· Oversee daily software operations, including roadmap execution, planning cycles, and delivery outcomes.

· Strengthen operational excellence across multiple engineering groups.

· Leverage deep technical expertise to influence architectural direction and support informed decision‑making.

· Grow and develop a high‑performing engineering department capable of supporting significant organizational expansion.

· Collaborate closely with U.S. and India teams to align priorities, ensure seamless execution, and support cross‑regional initiatives.

Qualifications for the Director of Software Engineering – Networking include:

· Strong background in companies centered on networking, infrastructure, or systems technology.

· Ability to work onsite in Saratoga Monday through Friday.

· Experience interfacing with SDKs or similar developer‑focused environments is a plus.

· Proven leadership at the Director, Senior Director, or VP level within software engineering.

· Demonstrated track record in building, scaling, and guiding engineering organizations through growth phases.

Compensation for the Director of Software Engineering – Networking:

Salary Range: $300,000-$330,000/year (USD)

Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, sick leave where required by law, and 401K
