Telecom Network Engineer - Routing

Piper Companies is seeking a Telecom Network Engineer - Routing for a client in the telecommunications industry in Richardson, TX. The Telecom Network Engineer - Routing role requires working in a hybrid environment. The Telecom Network Engineer - Routing role is ideal for a networking professional with strong routing expertise, hands-on troubleshooting experience, and a background supporting telecom infrastructure in Cisco and/or Juniper environments.

Responsibilities of the Telecom Network Engineer - Routing include:

• Manage the configuration, maintenance, and ongoing support of Neptune routers across the network environment.

• Diagnose and resolve complex routing, connectivity, and network performance issues to ensure service reliability.

• Perform network testing, validation, and analysis of routing configurations prior to deployment into production.

• Partner with the existing Neptune resource to gain knowledge of the current environment and support operational continuity.

• Monitor and optimize IP network infrastructure while maintaining routing stability and performance.

Requirements of the Telecom Network Engineer - Routing include:

• 5+ years of experience supporting routing and network infrastructure within a telecom environment.

• Strong hands-on experience with routers, preferably Cisco and/or Juniper technologies.

• Telecom industry background with a solid understanding of routing networks, IP networking, and telecom infrastructure.

• Experience troubleshooting network issues, validating configurations, and working with routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.

• Exposure to SIP and IP networking within telecom environments is highly preferred; deep SIP protocol expertise is not required.

Compensation for the Telecom Network Engineer - Routing include:

• $110,000 - $140,000 annually

• Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law.

• 12-month contract with strong likelihood of year-over-year extensions.

• Hybrid work schedule in Richardson, TX.
