Junior Systems Administrator

Piper Companies is seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to support a growing client in the technology industry in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area. The Junior Systems Administrator role requires working onsite 2 days per week in RTP, with the remainder of the schedule remote. The Junior Systems Administrator role is ideal for an early-career IT professional with experience supporting infrastructure, networking, and Windows-based environments who is looking to expand their expertise in systems administration.

Responsibilities of the Junior Systems Administrator include:

• Provide day-to-day support for on-premises servers, operating systems, and core IT infrastructure.

• Assist with network and system maintenance activities, including hardware deployments, cabling, patching, and equipment upgrades.

• Troubleshoot and resolve user, server, and network connectivity issues to maintain operational efficiency.

• Support system monitoring, documentation, and administrative tasks to ensure stability and compliance with IT standards.

• Work alongside senior infrastructure team members on technology enhancements, deployments, and ongoing support initiatives.

Requirements of the Junior Systems Administrator include:

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in systems administration, IT infrastructure support, or network administration.

• CCNA certification or equivalent Cisco networking knowledge required.

• Experience troubleshooting network issues, supporting switches and routers, and performing infrastructure maintenance.

• Familiarity with Windows Server administration and on-premises technology environments.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.

Compensation for the Junior Systems Administrator include:

• Salary Range: $90,000 - $115,000 annually

• Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law.

• Hybrid work schedule with 2 days onsite in RTP.
