Piper Companies is seeking a Director of Operations to support operations at a pharmaceutical facility in MontCo, PA. This leadership role is on‑site and is responsible for overseeing packaging, maintenance, logistics, and warehousing operations while ensuring cGMP compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities of the Director of Operations:
- Provide leadership and oversight for all packaging operations, including primary and secondary packaging of pharmaceutical dosage forms, controlled substances, and temperature‑sensitive products.
- Ensure the safe, compliant, efficient, and timely execution of production schedules in alignment with business objectives.
- Oversee maintenance, logistics, and warehousing functions at the Audubon site and off‑site warehousing facilities.
- Build client confidence through professional execution, strong leadership presence, and consistent delivery of operational commitments.
- Lead, coach, and inspire the operations team to achieve high standards of execution, compliance, and performance.
- Serve as a key member of the Audubon Site Leadership Team, supporting site‑level and global initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Almac global operations teams to ensure consistency of procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and accountability.
- Oversee Business Projects functions within the Audubon operation, including Operational Excellence (OpEx) initiatives and ERP implementation.
- Act as a senior operational representative during regulatory inspections and interactions with regulatory agencies, including the FDA.
Qualifications of the Director of Operations:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of supervisory or people management experience.
- 10+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated success driving continuous improvement and OEE initiatives while adhering to strong leadership and management principles.
- Commercially oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven experience leading change management initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Experience interacting with regulatory agencies, including the FDA.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience leading operations within a pharmaceutical production environment.
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical ERP systems.
