Piper Companies is seeking a Supply Chain Buyer to join a leading medical device organization. This is an onsite opportunity based in Audubon, PA, supporting a high‑growth team responsible for ensuring timely, efficient, and compliant material flow across a complex, fast‑paced supply chain. The Supply Chain Buyer will work cross‑functionally with Planning, Operations, Engineering, and Quality to maintain strong vendor relationships, drive cost‑effective purchasing strategies, and ensure materials are delivered On‑Time‑In‑Full. This position plays a vital role in supporting manufacturing operations that directly impact patient care and surgical outcomes.


Responsibilities of the Supply Chain Buyer:

  • Review and analyze purchase requisitions, collaborate with manufacturing partners, and ensure supply continuity with consistent On‑Time‑In‑Full (OTIF) delivery.
  • Create, update, and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely placement and follow‑through so materials and services are available to meet operational and sales demand.
  • Maintain proactive communication with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, order changes, and supply risks; resolve issues such as late deliveries, overshipments, invoicing discrepancies, and material non‑conformance.
  • Coordinate closely with Manufacturing, Planning, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Accounts Payable to support commercial needs and maintain a smooth PO‑to‑invoice workflow.
  • Conduct cost and volume analysis for assigned commodities; support cost‑effective purchasing decisions while aligning with inventory objectives.
  • Participate in supplier business reviews and follow‑ups, contributing to long‑term strategic vendor planning and capacity alignment.
  • Support the development and implementation of inventory controls, purchasing best practices, and process improvements; provide informal mentorship to junior team members.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, Code of Conduct, AdvaMed and MedTech Codes, and all relevant regulatory or ethical standards.
  • Represent the organization with professionalism and uphold high ethical standards in supplier and cross‑functional interactions.

Qualifications / Requirements for the Supply Chain Buyer:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (required).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain.
  • Familiarity with buyer responsibilities through past work, internships, or academic experience.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently in a high‑volume environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and negotiation skills.
  • Customer‑service mindset when working with both suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables).
  • Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to establish facts, analyze data, and support decision‑making.
  • Detail‑oriented self‑starter with strong project‑management abilities.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience within a medical device, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Project‑management experience or exposure to cross‑functional project work.

Compensation for the for the Supply Chain Buyer:

  • $70,000 base salary
  • Onsite, Audubon, PA
