Piper Companies is seeking a Site Reliability & Infrastructure Automation Engineer to support a leading organization in the technology sector. The Site Reliability & Infrastructure Automation Engineer will play a critical role in building scalable cloud infrastructure, driving automation initiatives, and enhancing platform reliability within a hybrid AWS environment.
Responsibilities of the Site Reliability & Infrastructure Automation Engineer: • Design, build, and maintain highly scalable and automated cloud infrastructure solutions within AWS (Lambda, S3, CloudFormation, EC2, VPC, and related services).
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform to support standardized, repeatable deployments.
• Create automation solutions and tooling using Python to improve reliability, efficiency, and operational excellence.
• Implement and enhance observability frameworks; assist in deploying tools such as Dynatrace or AppDynamics.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, DevOps, and platform teams to ensure system stability and performance.
• Support hybrid cloud operations with a focus on uptime, system health, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications of the Site Reliability & Infrastructure Automation Engineer:
• Bachelor’s degree (technical degree strongly preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, infrastructure automation, or cloud engineering.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services across compute, storage, networking, and serverless.
• Advanced proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code.
• Strong Python scripting and automation capabilities.
• Working knowledge of observability tools (Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Datadog, or similar).
• Ability to work in a hybrid model (3 days onsite in Durham, NC).
Compensation for the Site Reliability & Infrastructure Automation Engineer includes:
• Salary range: $130,000 – $140,000 base salary and the bonus and LTI
