Senior Adyen Engineer (Remote)

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Adyen Engineer to a large‑scale payment platform modernization initiative through remote work. This role focuses on providing deep technical guidance and architectural oversight during a complex migration from a legacy payment service provider to Adyen within a multi‑brand, enterprise environment. 

Responsibilities of the Senior Adyen Engineer:

• Serve as a subject‑matter expert for Adyen, advising engineering teams on integration design, configuration, tokenization strategies, and platform best practices across web and backend systems.

• Review payment architecture and migration plans, identifying risks, integration gaps, and performance or compliance concerns prior to production deployment.

• Provide guidance on complex payment flows including token vault migration, 3DS, disputes, settlement/reconciliation, and multi‑merchant account structures.

• Partner with cross‑functional teams and external vendors to support testing strategies, production readiness, and issue resolution throughout phased migration efforts.

Qualifications of the Senior Adyen Engineer:

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with a strong emphasis on payment systems and PSP integrations, including large‑scale or phased migration initiatives.

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience implementing Adyen in production environments.

• Deep knowledge of Adyen Checkout API, tokenization, webhooks, dispute management, settlement models, and multi‑merchant account structures.

• Strong understanding of PCI considerations, secure payment architecture, and compliance impacts within enterprise environments.

• Ability to operate in a client‑facing, advisory capacity with senior technical stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience considered).

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Compensation of the Senior Adyen Engineer:

• Salary Range: $120,000 – $135,000 (based on experience)
